Thank you very much for your tremendous support for publication of Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine (EHPM), the official journal of The Japanese Society for Hygiene.

Along with the operation of the society and publication for the journal, the Japanese Society for Hygiene proposed the introduction of page charge for EHPM at the FY 2009 general academic meeting and the proposal was approved.

1. There will be a 4,000 yen (USD40.00) charge per page at the time of receiving and posting papers after July 1, 2010. This charge does not include consumption tax.
2. This page charge should be paid if any of the first author or the corresponding author lives in Japan.
3. The corresponding author will be informed of the page charge after publication of the manuscript in EHPM.
4. The page charge may be waived upon request from authors who do not have sufficient funds. This will be decided by the editorial committee.

We apologize for the inconvenience, however, we humbly ask for your understanding and cooperation as this measure has been implemented to achieve improvements of our organization's operations.
